Completed Airports

Lihue Airport, Kaua‘i
The “Garden Isle” may be paradise, but its principal airport badly needed renovation. The State of Hawai‘i contracted Goodfellow Bros., Inc., to demolish the old runway and construct one to meet FAA standards.

Kittitas County Airport, Washington
To rebuild the runway, we pulverized and removed existing pavement, installed a drainage system, added lighting, and graded, paved and striped the new runway. This was accomplished within budget and on time, while keeping the existing cross runway open.

Kalaupapa Airport, Moloka‘i
Goodfellow Bros., Inc., completed the runway replacement, terminal improvements, and new airplane parking apron on this isolated peninsula that is sandwiched between sheer cliffs and pounding surf. Timing and organization were critical, with only a few summer months when the barges could bring in material and equipment to do the job.

Akiak Airport, Alaska
In this remote Alaskan village, Goodfellow Bros., Inc., created an airport that would link the community to the world. Akiak is built mainly on sand and silt. Lacking the materials necessary to construct the runway, we barged in crushed materials via the Kuskokwim River.
